“Anytime, anywhere” –Brock Lesnar
Jones probably would not have any trouble being a heavyweight and Lesnar having wrestled in college and fighting in mixed martial arts winning the UFC Heavyweight title is certainly up for the challenge. When Jones addressed fighting Lesnar, he doubted he would even accept the challenge even though the profit for such a match would bode well for both men. However, after Lesnar responded his interest was expressed to Jones at the final UFC 214 press conference. Jones said, “First I’ll deal with Daniel, then I’ll deal with Brock Lesnar.”
Jones said the following during his Facebook Live chat in regards to the potential fight with “The Beast Incarnate.”First DC then Lesnar? @JonnyBones is a man with a plan at the #UFC214 presser! pic.twitter.com/aQ0KH03pjF— #UFC214 (@ufc) July 26, 2017
"It would be a massive draw, really big for the sport. It would be a great challenge. That's a big old boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight, though. I definitely wouldn't try to wrestle with him the whole time. I'm not going to tell you what I would do." - Jon Jones
In the same press conference, Dana White had said he had not spoken with Lesnar or Jones since UFC 200. He has not been contacted, and during the presser White asked Jones if they had spoken about it. Jones said he had not but he also said he no longer deals with White in regards to future UFC business. WME-IMG head Ari Emanuel is who Jones deals with now, and if anyone can make that match happen it would be him.
However, Lesnar’s WWE contract does not expire until the end of next year so a lot of negotiating would have to take place before a fight contract is signed and an event is booked. With the coming bout between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather coming soon it is clear that if enough people want to see a fight happen promoters find a way to make it happen.
